Rich Farm Ice Cream in Middlefield, Connecticut

If you’re looking for the best ice cream in Connecticut, Rich Farm Ice Cream should definitely be on your list! While we visited the Middlefield, Connecticut location, Rich Farm has built a loyal following across the state for its homemade ice cream, generous portions, and friendly service. The scoopers were some of the kindest people we met, and the ice cream was so good we came back for a second visit just a few days later!

The Ice Cream

One thing that makes Rich Farm Ice Cream stand out is the quality. Their super premium ice cream is slow-churned in small batches using high-quality ingredients, and each location makes its own ice cream and fresh waffle cones every day. They’ve been doing it this way since 1994, with every pint, quart, and tub hand-mixed and filled—and it really shows in the rich, creamy flavor.

If you’re looking for homemade ice cream in Connecticut, Rich Farm definitely lives up to the hype.

The Menu

It was hard not to ask for a sample of every single flavor!

Their flavor of the day was Peppermint Stick, which is one of my favorite ice cream flavors, so I knew I didn’t need to sample it before ordering. Instead, I chose a split scoop with Razzmanian Devil (vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce and giant chocolate chunks). Both flavors were incredible, but I think Razzmanian Devil was my favorite!

We went back a couple of days later, and this time I ordered a split scoop of Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Cup (vanilla ice cream loaded with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup chunks). They started melting while I helped the kids, but after a quick stir, the combination was absolutely delicious.

The rest of my family ordered Strawberry (creamy strawberry ice cream with large strawberry chunks) and Cookie Monster (blue vanilla ice cream with chocolate chip cookies). I sampled both and especially loved the Cookie Monster.

With so many unique flavors, it would be easy to come back again and again to try something new.
